Macphie Raising Dough - WeeMac Kneads You!

By Millie Tibbins Join Me

We are fundraising for the future of hospitality.

We are raising money for The Burnt Chef Project and need your help!

Our own squad have pledged to support the partnership with a series of fundraising challenges. Millie Tibbins, James Parker, Roger Lomas and Tom Blakemore have signed up to take part in Tough Mudder – a muddy obstacle race which spans a 15km course. The race takes place on Sunday 6 July and the team hopes to raise £2,000 for The Burnt Chef Project.

And while his team recovers from this torturous task, on Monday 7 July, Brett Connor will set off the other part of the fundraising challenge, cycling over 450 from our site in The Midlands to our Glenbervie factory over the course of four days. Brett will be accompanied (by car) by Millie as his support team.

4 out of 5 hospitality professionals report having experienced at least one mental health issue during their career.

The current reality is that a large proportion of the hospitality community has, or will, experience a mental health issue as a direct result of chronic stress, stigma and lack of support.

In worst case scenarios this can also lead to loss of life with hospitality having one of the highest rates of suicide against other professions.

We have to change that. The Burnt Chef Project is a globally recognised not-for-profit Social Enterprise and we are fully committed to making the hospitality profession healthier and more sustainable by focusing on people's wellbeing first by providing free supporting structures, awareness campaigns supported by market-leading training and education.

At Macphie, we believe that looking after each other goes beyond the workplace. This year, we’re coming together to raise funds for The Burnt Chef Project — because it’s okay not to be okay, and nobody should face it alone.
