4 out of 5 hospitality professionals report having experienced at least one mental health issue during their career.
The current reality is that a large proportion of the hospitality community has, or will, experience a mental health issue as a direct result of chronic stress, stigma and lack of support.
In worst case scenarios this can also lead to loss of life with hospitality having one of the highest rates of suicide against other professions.
In a career which so many pursue out of a genuine passion for what they do it’s so wrong that industry born toxicity and stigma causes such common and drastic mental health issues.
The mission of the Burnt Chef Project is to eradicate the mental health stigma within the global hospitality industry by encouraging those suffering to speak out and feel heard.
