I'm fundraising for the future of hospitality.
I'm raising money for The Burnt Chef Project and need your help! It has been a LONG time since I ran a race of any distance, but I am lacing my running shoes up again for The Burnt Chef Project, who provide invaluable mental health resources for those in the hospitality Industry. I will be running a 10k on October 13th 2024, and in keeping with my own competitiveness, will be aiming for an Olympic standard time ... Or somewhere near!
4 out of 5 hospitality professionals report having experienced at least one mental health issue during their career.
The current reality is that a large proportion of the hospitality community has, or will, experience a mental health issue as a direct result of chronic stress, stigma and lack of support.
In worst case scenarios this can also lead to loss of life with hospitality having one of the highest rates of suicide against other professions.
We have to change that. The Burnt Chef Project is a globally recognised not-for-profit Social Enterprise and we are fully committed to making the hospitality profession healthier and more sustainable by focusing on people's wellbeing first by providing free supporting structures, awareness campaigns supported by market-leading training and education.
