In memory of Nobby willis

I've created this page in memory of a loved one.

Hey guys!

Firstly I want to thank you for taking your time to read my fundraiser for an amazing project! I'm going to tell you why I am doing this.

Sadly we recently lost my cousin, and he unfortunately became victim to alcohol and poor mental health, he was a character which lit up any room, on your darkest of days hearing his voice and his poor dad jokes would always make you wet your pants laughing. The tight bear hugs would make you feel warm, but unfortunately he lost his battle. We are all drowned with emese pain, but we know he's at peace now.

I've choose to absail down the spinnaker tower, and believe me it is taking all my courage to do so! As someone who is so scared of heights I am really pushing myself to my limits.

I've choosen to pick the charity the burnt chef project because it's a charity I hold close to my heart, the work they do is amazing and the amount of people they help daily is incredible!

The burnt chef project helps people who work in the hospitality industry who are working gruelling long hours, the stress from working in either a hot kitchen, serving people, the kitchen porters to the glass cleaners but hospitality covers a larger scale - have you though about when you get a cheeky maccys or a quick take away, to the delivery drivers.

I'm lucky enough to work in an amazing beautiful little country pub in Southwick who truely understand the effects working in this industry has on the workers! I can say I've suffered poor mental health and I've had amazing support not only from friends and family but from my colleagues and managment. But I'm fully aware not everyone is as fortunate as I am!

1 in 5 people have sucidial thoughts

1 in 14 people self harm

1 in 15 act apon suicide

Shocking huh?

Imagine that being your family - your sister, brother, mother, father, son, daughter, grandchild. People are still so frightened to say they're not okay, but I promise you it is okay not to be okay. I've learnt that over time!

Now by no means am I saying I'm going to change the world, I'm a singular person! But if we all come togerher and let everyone know there are so many access points and how many doors are open - together we could make a small change.

Next time your angry the ice cream machine isn't working, or there's a slight delay on your food or the waiter/waitress is taking on 8 tables and trying to remeber your order, or on the cold chilly nights when you grab a takeaway, think! there's a single mum/dad working every hour they can to make ends meet, there is someone who is working tirelessly to get through university and someone could just be battling to get through each day! Remeber to smile back.

I'm not only doing this for my cousin I'm doing this for everyone who has also suffered addiction, meantal health problems and that feeling off not getting through the day!

If you can spare something as small as £1 you can help towards de stigmatizing mental health and addiction!

Together we can help make that change! One day it could be you needing help! A simple text and chat can open a whole new road to a clearer mind.

Remeber as albus dumbledor would say 'Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light".

I will be absailing down the spinnaker on the 6th October!

Please show your support! And thank you for reading this far

I hope you have a lovely day
