Every Mind Matters; Break the Stigma

I'm fundraising for the future of hospitality.

Having worked within the hospitality industry all of my working life thus far, I have seen and experienced myself the impact it can have on a person’s wellbeing, especially their mental health.

I have always been a passionate chef. It was my absolute calling in life and an absolute joy for me. I put my all into my work and have dedicated so much of my life into being the best chef I can be, spending endless hours perfecting my craft and giving my heart and soul to an industry that doesn’t always give back. 

This industry can be ruthless and brutal, and I have personally felt the impact of that. It’s for this reason that I feel The Burnt Chef is such a valuable and absolutely necessary and worthwhile charity. Individuals in this industry need to feel like someone has their back - and now we finally do.

The current reality is that a large proportion of the hospitality community has, or will, experience a mental health issue as a direct result of chronic stress, stigma and lack of support.

In worst case scenarios this can also lead to loss of life with hospitality having one of the highest rates of suicide against other professions.
