Kilimanjaro 2025

I'm fundraising for the future of hospitality.

I'm raising money for The Burnt Chef Project, an organisation set up to tackle mental health stigma in the hospitality industry.

Did you know?

4 out of 5 hospitality professionals report to having experienced mental health issues. It's time to change this!

It's something very close to my heart and I would love your support!

Some reasons why they need your help today:

  • It costs The Burnt Chef Project £80 (UK) / $100 (non UK) per person for therapy through their global EAP scheme.
  • They have trained over 1600 students in the last 2 years in mental health and stress reduction at a cost of £400/$480 per talk
  • £158 ($180) per volunteer they train in peer support to better aid those suffering with mental health issues

Together you can help them do so much more!

Climbing for a Cause: Supporting Mental Health in Hospitality

Thursday 8th May

Hi, I'm Gintarė (or Ginny to you). I have spend fair share in hospitality and  this September, I'm taking on one of the greatest physical and mental challenges of my life: climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s tallest peak, standing at 5,895m (19,341 ft). But I’m not doing it just for the adventure – I’m doing it for a cause incredibly close to my heart.

I’m raising funds for The Burnt Chef Project, a charity dedicated to eradicating mental health stigma in the hospitality sector. Working in kitchens and service environments, I’ve seen firsthand the emotional and mental toll the industry can take. The Burnt Chef Project provides vital support services, including free therapy for hospitality workers, and helps foster a culture where it’s okay to talk about mental health.

My goal is to raise £2,000, which will fund therapy sessions for 34 professionals – real people who deserve real support. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a difference.

I’m fully self-funding this trip, so every penny you give goes straight to the cause.

Let’s climb this mountain together – for better mental health in hospitality.

Thank you for your support!
