The Bourdain Challenge 2024

I'm taking part in the Bourdain Challenge to raise funds to support the Burnt Chef Project, an organisation set up to tackle mental health stigma in the hospitality industry.

As a young lad, I lost my father to suicide, so know only too well the effects that poor mental health can have on yourself, your friends and your family. I want to help change that in anyway that I can and being an ambassador for this brilliant organisation is an honour and a privilege which is why I'm taking part in the challenge!

So, what's the challenge?

The Bourdain Challenge is a virtual active challenge based around the 35,228 miles covered between destinations in Season One of Parts Unknown.

From the Congo to Peru, from Quebec to Libya - we're tracing Bourdain's journey in this incredible fundraiser.

We're looking to raise funds to help us launch a series of mental health modules specifically designed to support hospitality students.

With four out of five hospitality professionals reporting ill mental health as a direct result of working in the industry, it's part of our ongoing mission to create a healthier place of work for everyone, this starts at grass roots level.
